Using Art in Interiors

A good piece of art can make or break a room, so it’s no wonder that art often becomes the starting point for many rooms in the world of interior design. A great example of this can be seen in Kylie Jenners home, featured in Architectural Digest .

Each room has a statement art piece in it, and each room has kept the theme of the art running through its design concept.

The rich and famous are well known for being collectors of fine art, so their houses are usually designed with this in mind. At Kings of Chelsea, we have had work from some of the most renowned artists of the 20th and 21st century hanging in our showroom. Luxury furniture looks its best with luxury art.

John Hoyland

Instead of coordinating the colours in the room with the art, it’s important to use colours which contrast to avoid making the space look too contrived. The colours in our showroom perfectly compliment this painting by the late YBA artist John Hoyland.

Choose art that shocks, creates a particular mood or has a special sentiment. This is something you will have to look at every day, so it’s important that it has a meaningful place in your home.
